The Crashed UFO Photo

A high-profile attorney gains access to Project Blue Book classified files and finds a photograph of a crashed UFO

By KEN KORCZAK

In my previous article, I discussed two top government scientists who revealed, in no uncertain terms, that the U.S. is in possession of UFOs obtained both by way of crash retrievals and crafts that were “gifted” to us by “aliens” — or whoever they are.

Those two scientists are Dr. James Lacatski who headed the Pentagon’s $22 million AWSAAP program (frequently misrepresented as AATIP) and NASA mission specialist Bob Oechsler. The former is still active in this realm and the latter made his revelations in the early 1990s. Oechsler died in 2020.

But today, I am going to discuss another tantalizing story that provides compelling evidence that the U.S. military has retrieved a crashed UFO of “alien” origin.

This time it’s not a member of the scientific community, but a famous attorney who has handled some of the biggest legal cases in American history.

It will not surprise anyone in the UFO community that the lawyer I’m talking about is Daniel Sheehan. No doubt, many may already know this story, but I urge all to read on because there are a number of peculiarities and facets to this case you may not have heard and will surprise you.

DANIEL SHEEHAN

Daniel Sheehan began his career where many of our elite legal minds start — by nailing down a juris doctorate at Harvard Law School in 1967. From the beginning, Sheehan was determined to use his brilliant legal mind to champion causes of social justice rather than joining some cut-throat law firm where he could get rich working for big corporations, rich people or high-profile criminals.

Daniel Sheehan

Sheehan has handled legal cases that go to the heart of issues that are important to the American experiment as a free democracy with an enlightened moral compass and ideals.

For example, he was a principal attorney representing the New York Times when it sought to publish the Pentagon Papers, a bombshell set of documents that revealed all the dark and terrible things our own military was doing as it prosecuted the Vietnam War.

He was the chief counsel in the Karan Silkwood case. This involved a whistleblower who worked for a nuclear material fabrication company in Oklahoma. Silkwood came forward and revealed a variety of nefarious activities the company was performing in terms of handling extremely dangerous plutonium materials.

Karen Silkwood may have been murdered by the firm’s private security firm to keep her quiet. (It was never proven). But it was Sheehan who revealed that the company was not only exposing its own employees to dangerous levels of radiation but also illegally shipping plutonium overseas to a foreign government. Karen Silkwood was portrayed by Meryl Streep in a 1983 Oscar-nominated movie.

Daniel Sheean played a key role in the many legal wranglings of the very complicated Iran-Contra scandal that rocked the Reagan Administration. It involved an illicit scheme to sell missiles to Iran and use the profits to buy weapons for a right-wing militant group in Nicaragua.

Of course, it was Daniel Sheehan who successfully defended Dr. John Mack against a Harvard kangaroo court that tried to sanction Mack for his embrace of the idea that “alien beings” were real and interacting with human beings.

SHEEHAN GETS PULLED INTO THE UFO RABBIT HOLE

It can be said this story has its origin in Georgia when future President Jimmy Carter was the governor of the Peach State. During his tenure as governor, Carter experienced an extraordinary UFO sighting. This instilled within him a powerful interest in the UFO issue.

When Carter defeated President Gerald Ford in the 1976 election, one of the first things Carter did as President in 1977 was to try to find out everything he could about what the U.S. government knew about UFOs.

Carter asked the head of the CIA — at the time that was future President George H.W. Bush — and was stunned when Bush told Carter that not even the President of the United States is allowed to have access to the most classified UFO information!

Let that sink in!

Anyway, during this period, Daniel Sheehan was in Washington D.C. where he served as General Counsel for the Catholic Church’s Jesuit National Headquarters of the Office of National Social Ministry.

One day, a woman by the name of Rosemary Chalk invited Sheehan to her Washington D.C. home for dinner. Ms. Chalk was the Secretary of the U.S. National Academy of Sciences.

To make a long story short, Ms. Chalk over dinner was fascinated to learn that Sheehan, already a well-known legal mind, was extremely interested in the idea of extraterrestrial life in the universe and that his first career choice had been to be an astronaut.

This prompted Ms. Chalk to ask Sheehan if he would be willing to meet with a woman named Marcia S. Smith. She worked for the Science and Technology Division of the Library of Congress as director of its Congressional Research Service.

Marcia Smith told Sheehan that President Jimmy Carter has written an official report about his UFO sighting and wanted Congress to investigate it, and also the issue of UFOs in general to a much greater extent.

Congress, in turn, asked Marcia Smith to collect and evaluate of all the data the government had on UFOs in her capacity as director of the Official Congressional Research Service.

She was tasked to write a detailed report and submit it to Congress. The latter would then decide what could be released to the public about UFOs and what kind of information should remain in the hands of Congress.

THE VATICAN SMACKDOWN

Because she wanted to be as thorough as possible in preparing her UFO report for Congress — and ultimately for the President — she asked Danny Sheehan if he would use his position as Chief Council for the Jesuit National Headquarters to find out what the Vatican knew about UFOs.

A UFO Vatican connection?

It seems that Marcia Smith had reason to believe that the Vatican and the Catholic Church was in possession of substantial information — including some bombshell stuff — about UFOs, extraterrestrials and more.

Sheehan agreed to help. He approached Father William Davis who was director of the Jesuit office in D.C. Sheehan asked Father Davis to get him access to the Vatican Library in Rome, and specifically, a special section of Vatican archives on UFOs. Davis agreed to make the arrangements.

Now get this: When Father Davis got back to Sheehan, he told him that the Vatican denied his access to the portion of the Vatican Library that contained its UFO material! The Vatican treated this material with its own form of “Top Secret Classified” status.

Sheehan was not about to give up easily, however. So, he wrote a letter the head of the Vatican Library in Rome telling him that the requested access to Vatican UFO files was made not only by the U.S. Congress but the President of the United States himself.

The Vatican Library still refused access to its UFO files!

SHEEHAN GETS ACCESS TO CLASSIFIED PROJECT BLUE BOOK ARCHIVES

After the Vatican slammed the door in Sheehan’s face, he went back to his regular life. But Marcia Smith soon contacted him again, this time seeking his help to get Congress to restore full funding for SETI, the Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence after funding had been cut in half.

She also wanted Sheehan to give a seminar to scientists at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory about the theological implications of contact with extraterrestrial civilizations.

Sheehan eagerly agreed. But first, he wanted to do some research so that he could head into JPL armed with some fresh information about ETs and what the U.S. government might know about them. Marcia Smith asked what he wanted. Sheehan immediately said:

“I want personal access to the never released and still classified files of Project Blue Book which had been shut down in 1969.”

Smith said she would go to work on it. A few days later, Sheehan was incredibly surprised to hear back from Smith and that, unlike the Vatican, the Air Force and the Department of Defense would grant his request to see the classified files of Project Blue Book.

SHEEHAN GOES TO AN EMPTY BUILDING WHERE SECRET PROJECT BLUE BOOKS FILES ARE KEPT

Smith calls Sheehan a few weeks later and tells him it’s all set up. He is instructed to go to a new building at the Library of Congress that is not yet occupied. He is to present himself at a specific time. After entering the building, Sheehan was instructed to take some stairs to a basement area where he would find a specific room.

Sheehan follows the instructions, walks through the echoing hallways of an empty building and finds the basement room. There he finds two unsmiling guys with a military bearing although they wore civilian suits. They stood guard on either side of the door. A third plainclothes man is sitting nearby at a desk.

The desk man checks Sheehan’s ID and confirms that he can go inside the room, but he tells Sheehan that he is not allowed to bring anything with him, such as his briefcase or anything else. He was forbidden to take any notes. Sheehan agreed and set down his briefcase next to the desk, but he had a yellow legal pad tucked under his arm that no one seemed to notice.

Sheehan enters the room and closes the door behind him. Now he is alone with a bunch of boxes that contain all kinds of records. Some of them contain 35mm film cannisters. Also in the room are several of those reel-to-reel film viewers that are hand-manipulated so one can examine film footage one frame at a time.

Sheehan begins to browse through the films — and to make a long story short — he is stunned to find that one of them contains footage of a classic silvery flying saucer with a dome on top.

On July 14, 2001, Sheehan granted an interview with Canadians Errol Bruce-Knapp and Scott Robins. They were the hosts of a radio show called “Stange Days … Indeed” which was broadcast in Toronto at CFRB 1010 Newstalk Radio. Sheehan described his experience of finding the crashed UFO film frames this way:

“There were these photographs of unmistakable — of a UFO sitting on the ground. It had crashed, apparently. It had hit into this field and had dug up, kind of plowed this kind of trough through this field. It was wedged into the side of this bank. There was snow all around the picture. The vehicle was wedged into the side of this mud-like embankment — kind of up at an angle.

There were Air Force personnel. As I cranked the little handle and looked at additional photos, these Air Force people were taking pictures. In the photograph, they were taking photographs of this vehicle. One of the photos actually had the Air Force personnel with this big, long tape measure measuring this thing. You could see that they had these parkas on, with little fur around their hoods. You could see that they had those little name tags on their jacket. They were clearly U.S. Air Force personnel.” (Source)

Sheehan looked closer at the images and found another picture that was a close-up of an area just beneath the dome of the UFO. Here he was surprised to see what looked like some kind of hieroglyphic symbols.

He took out a pen and placed the cardboard backing of his legal pad up against the screen of the film reader and carefully copied the hieroglyphs. The cardboard was easier to hold steady against the screen than the yellow legal paper as he copied the images — and using the cardboard would turn out to be a lucky break.

When he finally opted to leave the room, he thanked the guards and began to leave. The desk man told him to “hold up!” He said, “Wait a minute! What’s that you have under your arm?”

Sheehan explained it was just a standard legal pad that all lawyers carry around. The man took it from him and riffled through the yellow pages, finding them all blank. He did not bother to examine the cardboard backing of the legal pad, however, where Sheehan had copied the hieroglyph.

At any rate, even if the guard had noticed the hieroglyph, it may have looked like nothing more than random doodles.

He gave the pad back to Sheehan and he was let go Scott-free with the small treasure he had gleaned from the secret, classified Project Blue Book files.

VATICAN ‘CONFIRMS’ THE HIEROGLYPH (Sort of)

After his adventure, Sheehan sometime later met again with Father Bill Davis of the Vatican’s Jesuit group in Washington D.C. Sheehan told him about what he had seen in the archives and film footage. He then showed Father Davis the hieroglyph he had traced as he had seen it on the UFO.

Now get this:

Father Davis looks at the hieroglyph. He then reaches into one of his desk drawers and pulls out a close-up photo of an airborne UFO! On this UFO is the same hieroglyph that Sheehan saw in the photo of the crashed UFO!

Stunned, Sheehan asked Father Davis where he got the picture.

Father Davis told him it was taken by a commercial pilot flying out of Seattle. The pilot snapped the picture with his personal camera during an extremely close encounter with a UFO in the air. After the pilot developed the film and saw he had a very clear picture of a UFO, his first thought was to fear for the security of his career with the airline. Back then, any pilot could be quickly drummed out of their jobs for as little as making just a few brief comments about UFOs.

Thus, the pilot decided to give the photo to the head of air traffic control at the Seattle airport and washed his hands of it. Likewise, the air traffic control chief wanted nothing to do with any kind of career-jeopardizing UFO stuff, so he took the photo home and showed it to his wife.

He asked his wife what he should do with the photo. His wife told him to give it to her brother who is a Catholic priest!

Now get this again:

That Catholic priest of the wife of the Seattle air traffic control guy was none other than Father Bill Davis — Daniel Sheehan’s boss — at the Jesuit National Headquarters in Wahington D.C.!

Anyway, that’s what the air traffic control guy did. He dropped the career-killing UFO photo like a hot potato and gave it to Father Bill Davis. Thus, the UFO black-n-white pic ended up languishing in a desk drawer at the Jesuit National Headquarters office in Washington D.C. — where it was shown to Daniel Sheehan.

PECULIARITIES AND TAKEAWAYS

Daniel Sheehan has related this story frequently in his many lectures and interviews over the past 40+ years. It’s an amazing story, certainly, and Sheehan’s stellar reputation for integrity and honesty adds weight to the account.

Skeptics have occasionally nibbled around the edges of this narrative, looking for weaknesses. In addition to decrying that the story is both unprovable and not falsifiable, the main complaint is:

Why has Sheehan never published an image of this UFO hieroglyph?

Sheehan told radio hosts Errol Bruse-Knapp and Scott Robins that the hieroglyph drawing remains in one of his file cabinets and that he “should probably publish it one day and maybe will.” That was more than 20 years ago and Sheehan (as far as I know) has never revealed the UFO hieroglyph, even though he tells the story often in his lectures.

I you ask me, it would be an excellent prop in a lecture situation.

Whatever the case, in my view, the fact that Sheehan has never shown the UFO hieroglyph really isn’t all that much to hang your hat on if you’re a skeptic.

I end with just two takeaways from this story:

  • The U.S. Government does not trust the average U.S. citizen to know the full truth about what the government knows about UFOs so it won’t share the information it has with us.
  • The Vatican does not trust the average member of the Catholic faith to know what the Vatican knows about UFOs so it won’t share the information it has with its flock.

  1. Interesting story. However, like many similar stories how can anyone prove or disprove them. I am skeptical about many such claims. However, I am a believer in the UFO phenomenon. It is easy for someone to get their 15 minutes’ worth of fame by implying they have some secret information, evidence or that they have witnessed some strange, unearthly event without any reliable evidence, just to seek the attention. Having said this, the Universe is 14.7 billion years old “roughly”. Our solar system is only 4.5 billion years old “roughly”. Therefore, the universe as we know it has had over three time as many opportunities (time wise) to create intelligent life on other worlds. I truly believe that we, as an intelligent species would have to be incredibly arrogant and naive to believe that we are the only intelligent life forms in the entire universe. What is to say that other intelligent life forms were not responsible for seeding or nurturing life and even propagating intelligent life on planet earth. If so, those same life forms could be checking on our progress to make sure we have not annihilated ourselves. I think if whatever is going on in our skies, the things that people have seen, documented eyewitness account and even military video footage of craft outmaneuvering state of the art military jets. If those who control these craft wished at any time to harm the human race, they would have done it a long time ago.
